Top 5 America’s Best Ramen Restaurants

Ramen has become increasingly popular over the years, and for a good reason. The keyword ramen near me has about a hundred million searches per month, and with that popularity, Ramen Restaurants have been popping up all over the country. I have visited a ton of ramen restaurants, and have done my best to narrow it down to my favorites.

Check out Keep The Eats: Top 5 Vegas Brunches

Please note; these are places that I have personally visited, and these are my opinions. I am sure everyone has a favorite ramen restaurant, they love, and that is great! Feel free to send me info or a comment, and perhaps I will go check them out.

When looking for the best ramen restaurant near me, I generally look for a place that has fresh noodles, flavorful broths, and simple menus. I tend to discover the best ramen places, have the most straightforward menus. What they do serve, generally comes with a lot of dedication to developing those fantastic ramen noodle flavors.

Ok, so let’s cut to the chase! Here is the Keep The Eats: Top 5 America’s Best Ramen Restaurants!

Please note, these are not in any particular order of who is better than the other. All are equally good, so if these ramen places are near you, you really can’t go wrong.

Ramen Kobo – Las Vegas, NV.
Ramen Kobo in Las Vegas has quite the reputation. If the line out the door is not a big enough sign for you, then maybe watching them make fresh noodles right in front of your face, might do the trick. Their menu is quite simple with the classic Tonkotsu Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, and a mouthwatering Miso Ramen. Once you finally get in, you will know the wait was worth it when you get a taste of that mouthwatering broth. You can also get a few side dishes as well, which are equally tasty. If you are in Vegas, on the strip, this place is worth the Uber trip! Locals… haha, well… Just check out all my posts on Instagram.

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya- Seattle, WA.
I was on a layover in Seattle, visiting a friend, and told him I was interested in some good Ramen. He said come to Kizuki Ramen, and get a place in line because it’s going to be crazy. Seattle is one of America’s gateways from Asia, and it shouldn’t be much of a surprise, some of these flavors have taken root. Kizuki Ramen features a menu which will have you quickly licking the bottom of your Ramen bowl. Suggestions include Garlic Tonkatsu and Agedeshi Tofu, although everything else also looked delicious.

Komatsu – Kansas City, MO.
Looking for Ramen in Kansas City? Don’t worry! We got you covered with the amazing experience at Komatsu in Kansas City, MO. Tonkotsu Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, or Miso Ramen, Komatsu has you covered!

Sora Japanese Restaurant – Detroit International Airport, MI.
In my travels, getting stranded in airports was part of life. Knowing where to go to pass the time is essential to keeping your sanity. If you ever get some time in the Detroit International Airport (DTW), then maybe stop in and check out Sora Japanese Restaurant. This place has many different Japanese dishes and some pretty good Ramen. The picture shown is Udon; however, I have had the Ramen, and it is pretty good for airport food.

Flying to New York? Don’t buy attraction tickets until you click this.

Ohjah Noodle House – Las Vegas, NV.
This noodle house, holds an exceptional place in my heart, as it is my go-to when I crave a quick helping of Ramen in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is full of noodle houses, and this one is for sure one of the better ones. Ohjah Noodle House is part of the Ohjah family of Japanese Steak Houses and has locations throughout the greater Las Vegas area. My favorite dishes are the Tan Tan Men, featuring spicy pork, sprouts, eggs, scallions, and a mouthwatering broth.

Rosallie Le French Cafe – Las Vegas.
Rosallie Le French Cafe in Las Vegas, NV, is one of the best French cafes, I have ever been to. I stumbled onto this place, looking for a place to catch up on some work, and instantly fell in love. Rosallie Le French Cafe originally began in France in 1983 and since has come over to Las Vegas. They recently opened up another location in Winter Garden Florida. Their brunch menu features breakfast quiches, Eggs Au Gratin, and their famous Croque Rosallie. If you are into the lunch side of things, then you must try their Bree Sandwich.

Mimosas Gourmet features one of the most delicious brunch menus in Las Vegas. Some of my favorites are the Chile Verde Eggs, Corned Beef Skillet, and the Chicken and Apple Sausage Omelet.

Neighbors – Las Vegas, NV.
If you are looking for the best farm to table Brunch Option, then you have come the right place. Neighbor’s dedication to fresh, healthy, mouthwatering brunch options, is second to none. This place will be bustling over the weekend so you will need to get in early to avoid the wait. Some notable breakfast favorites are the Breakfast Burrito Bowl, ShakShuka (poached farm eggs, slow stewed tomatoes, bell pepper, Fresno chili, feta, side of toast), and my personal favorite – The Pacific Smoked Salmon Toast.

First-time coffee drinker?

What coffee is right for you? Like Wine and other acquired tastes, coffee has quite a plethora of flavors, textures, and types.

What coffee you drink for the first time, generally depends on how strong you want the coffee, and what you put in it.

Let’s break it down:IF YOU LIKE IT SWEET: If this is you, then you want to go with lighter roasts. You can begin to add sugar and creamer to your liking, or just start sipping slowly and see where things go. Espresso makers, like the X7.1 iperEspresso Machine, allows you to create a variety of coffee creations. Illy coffee does a great job of providing an easy way to make espresso. Their Y3.2 iperEspresso Espresso & Coffee Machine is an easy way to comfortably experiment with espresso.

IF YOU LIKE STRONG AND BOLD: If this is you, then you would want to go with the darker roasts. Espresso with an excellent Crema can help take the edge off. Illy coffee makes some really decadent espresso roasts, which are worth a try. My preference is generally in the bolder category, then I add cream and sugar to make it precisely to my liking. I like coffee flavor but tend to avoid drinking drip coffee black, due to its acidity. Illy coffee makes amazingly smooth espresso roasts, which have a strong aroma, yet finishes smooth.

Y5 iperEspresso Milk, Espresso & Coffee Machine, create an authentic espresso. It also comes with milk frothier & hot water dispenser for Tea. illy espresso machines are some of the best ways in the world to enjoy a cup of fantastic coffee at home.

In my opinion, it all comes down to what you have time for. Traditional Espresso Machines are typically the best for flavor, freshness, and variety. If your lifestyle is more on the go, and having the time to be your own Barista every morning, is kind of far-fetched, then a Coffee pod system like the illy Diamo One Espresso Machine –  may be more for you. Coffee Pod or Capsule technology has significantly improved over the years, giving you an incredible way to enjoy rich espresso quickly and easily.

coffee, espresso coffee, coffee roaster, espresso maker, coffee lover, gifts for coffee lovers.
illy Coffee offers a variety of amazing rich coffee blends for drip coffee, espresso roasts, and for use with a french press.

Our friends over at illy coffee are pulling out all of the stops. Illy is a great way to drink coffee for the first time, exploring many different varieties. Get a variety pack and get a sampling of everything illy has to offer.

Keep The Eats, is working to provide some great deals on brands you know and love. We talk about food and travel, but we also want to help you out at home too. Taiwan Revisited Series: “Mango Cha Cha”

I was trying to figure out where to start for this very special series, and after careful consideration, I decided to do the Cha Cha… lol. The Mango Cha Cha! The people of Taiwan generally consists of a vibrant culture with traditional Taiwanese roots, Japanese influence and some affinity for Korean Culture as well. Taiwanese culture can be described as friendly, outgoing, inviting and as a visitor, you don’t have to look far to find a helping hand (Maybe learning a little Mandarin, might not be so bad either). Taiwan was the first country I visited overseas, and it was by chance, from a friend that used to teach English as an exchange program, many years ago. I was milling about in my head about a place I wanted to visit first and as usual, London or Amsterdam came to mind as good places to start.

My friend and I were having a conversation one day, and he mentioned he was going back to Taiwan to visit old friends, from when he lived there several years ago. For whatever reason, (Probably the Stiff Old Fashioned I was drinking) I piped up and said: “I would like to go with you!” It was not long after that, I booked my hotel, an Airbnb Flat in Taipei, and my ticket on United and China Airlines. It was not long after that, that I was packed and ready to visit a world, in which I knew very little about. Asia has always fascinated me, however, it seemed like a place where I needed to have a bit more experience before one would simply jump right in. Well, I was very, very wrong, however, some of those stories will be for a different day, and you will have to stay tuned for that!

So anyway… Back to The “Mango Cha Cha.”

This picture is every bit as good as it looks! You have fresh mangos, mango shavings, mango ice cream and what the heck… let’s throw some Lucky Charm Style Marshmallows into the mix. It’s placed on top of the shaved ice, which is covered in what I was told, was a liquid brown sugar. Trust and believe, if you are a mango freak, then this dish is for you! Mango Cha Cha does not mess around with their name, as it is every bit of mango madness as you can take.

The cool story behind this was it was one of the first things I ate, during my time in Taiwan. It was an amazing, friendly, vibrant introduction to some of the incredible feelings and experiences you can have when visiting Taiwan. Taiwan is a lot like this Mango Dish, which is a bright, fun, cheerful and tasty representation of the expansive world of this amazing country. When you visit, make sure you come to do a little bit of the “Cha Cha” at Mango Cha Cha.

One of the best ways to experience food in Taipei, Taiwan is to take a night tour! It is only a couple of hours, but you will an amazing guide, amazing eats and a fast pass, right to some of the most amazing Taipei Night Market Cuisine.

Sinful Subs Las Vegas

When Keep The Eats comes for a visit, we love to share the food, experience, and story with everyone we can. When we visit, every restaurant gets special posts on our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and a nice write up right here on our blog! One of our golden rules is that if the experience is not the best, we simply don’t post it. You will never see a negative review from Keep The Eats, because sometimes – restaurants, hotels, airlines etc, just have days that are less than stellar. We also don’t announce our arrival, because we want to see the venue, business or establishment in its most natural state. It’s hard to have passion in writing, when you can tell something has been manufactured, in anticipation of your arrival.

Anyway, let’s get on to the good stuff!! Sinful Subs, which is located here in Las Vegas, has quite an amazing story. Chef Vic “Vegas” Moea from Brooklyn, NY, has an incredible story, which starts with learning the secrets of amazing Italian flavors from his mother and grandmother. You may also recall Chef Vic, from his appearances on Food Network Star Season 7, battling it out with other chefs for a chance at getting your own cooking show. Since that time, Chef Vic went on to start a killer sub place called Sinful Subs, located off of Ft. Apache Road in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas.

Sinful Subs, Baked Subs, Sub Sandwiches, Las Vegas Food, Local Restaurant
Sinful Subs Las Vegas

Once you walk into this place, the aroma is the first thing that hits you. Sinful Subs utilizes some of the most amazing combinations of Italian Style Cuisines and puts them into these amazing baked sub sandwiches. The one I tasted was called the “Baller” which featured baked cheeses, mouthwatering meatballs, flaky baked bread and a bold marinara that puts everything together perfectly. The best way to describe Sinful Subs, in my opinion, would be to take a pizza, calzone and a baked sub, and somehow smash them all together.

They also have some signature sandwiches such as The “Knuckle Sandwich,” “Skinny Dip” and a grilled sandwich called “Rainy Day” which may require you to have the medics on standby (But it would probably be worth it). What about the sauce? I thought most taco joints, had the hot sauces down to a science, but when you see the array of saucy goodness going on in here, it might make them head back to the drawing board.

Another amazing thing about Sinful Subs Las Vegas was how amazing the staff was. I was greeted warmly and treated like I was truly part of the family (Must be the Italian thing…), and fully informed on the best the menu had to offer. The manager at the time, constantly was out in the lobby, asking people if they were enjoying their food and needed anything. Someone who is that invested into their customers is always a good sign, that the food coming out, will also be just as good.

South Korea

South Korea has been on my list of places to visit for a long time. The amazing culture, food, and shopping is just the beginning of why you should add this destination to your list as well. I will be going through a photo-series, which include visits to Seoul and Pyeoungtaek. Pyeoungtaek is an interesting story because it was my first destination, yet the most unforgiving, when you don’t know the language. Going through Seoul will highlight quite a few amazing destinations, food and some tips in getting around. South Korea is full of vibrant culture, exciting night markets, beautiful parks and of course amazing South Korean Cuisine!

Everyone should enjoy travel in some way, during their lives. The best education in the world is going abroad and experiencing cultures, other than your own. As always to get the latest updates, from my visits, make sure you follow Keep The Eats on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter!

You can also check out restaurants, hotels, and other businesses I visit along the way by visiting the Keep The Eats Link List!
